How it works
StepStore turns one simple rule — walk first, unlock later — into an automatic daily loop on your iPhone.
StepStore reads your step count from Apple Health or Health Connect, with your permission, and converts every walk into unlock credit.
Pick the social, video, shopping, or entertainment apps you want to earn back. StepStore keeps them locked until you have walking credit.
Every walk adds minutes to your balance. Streaks, a daily goal, and a multiplier keep the habit visible and worth repeating.
Use your balance to open a short unlock window — as small as one minute. When it ends, an optional cooldown stops the slide back into the scroll.

Walk to Buy Time & Unlock Apps
StepStore helps you turn daily movement into intentional screen time. Instead of blocking your favorite apps forever, StepStore lets you earn unlock minutes by walking, then spend those minutes on the apps you choose.
StepStore reads your step count through Apple Health or Health Connect, with your permission, and converts walking into unlock credit. Select the apps or app categories you want StepStore to manage. You stay in control of what gets managed. Every walk adds minutes to your StepStore balance. Your progress, streaks, daily goal, and multiplier help keep the habit visible. Use earned minutes to unlock selected apps for short access windows.
StepStore is not about punishment. It is about creating a small, healthy pause before opening the apps that usually drain your attention. Walk first, earn access, then decide if you still want to open them.

FAQ
Yes. StepStore reads your step count through Apple Health (or Health Connect on Android) with your permission, so steps counted by your iPhone or Apple Watch turn into unlock credit automatically. No separate tracker is required.
StepStore is free to download, but an active subscription is required to use the app and its features. A free trial may be available for eligible users, and pricing and renewal terms are shown in the app before you purchase.
No. StepStore shields the apps you choose only until you earn walking credit, then lets you open a timed unlock window. It is designed around earned access, not permanent blocking or punishment.
When an unlock window ends, the shield goes back up and StepStore can start a cooldown so you do not fall straight back into the feed. Walk more to add minutes to your balance and unlock again whenever you choose.
Yes. You select the specific apps or app categories StepStore shields — social, video, shopping, games, or anything else that pulls you in. Everything you do not select stays untouched.
StepStore uses health data only to calculate walking minutes and show progress. It does not need your location and does not read messages, posts, purchases, photos, contacts, microphone, or camera — and no account is required for core use.
No meaningful impact. StepStore reads step counts your phone already records through Apple Health instead of running its own GPS or motion tracking, so it does not add background location drain.
No. Your iPhone counts steps on its own and StepStore reads them from Apple Health. If you do wear an Apple Watch, its step data flows into the same balance automatically.
